Welcome from 'C'

Hey there!

I'm the other half of this Scissor Sister duo! My name is Caitlan, nice to meet you.

We're two sisters from Adelaide - South Australia and we're here to show you some of the things we get up to!

I also run my own separate blog called 'ProcrastiCaitlan' Its basically all the things I get up to instead of doing what I'm meant to be doing! Some posts will be both here and there because arts and crafts and cooking are things that I procrastinate with. So be sure to keep you eye out on that too!

A little bit about me.
I also have a youtube account with the same name - ProcrastiCaitlan.
I am the younger half of the duo, I am a 22 year old Uni student who spends most of her time procrastinating, rather than studying. Hence the name ProcrastiCaitlan

My sister and I will be doing things from: arts and crafts to DIY and also some delicious treats.

I hope you enjoy this blog as much as we enjoy making it!

Ciao! C x

Popsicles

Seeing as how the weather is supposed to be heating up here in Australia, I decided to make some different flavoured popsicles today.
I made two flavours - Choc-Banana and Coconut Pine-Lime.

Choc Banana - Makes 6
 Ingredients:
1 large banana - the riper the better
1/3 cup nutella - melted in microwave for 30 seconds
1/2 cup light milk
200ml (1/2 can) coconut cream

Method:
Mash the banana in a large bowl.
Once it is all broken and smashed up add the light milk.
Whisk these together until they are combined and smooth.
Add the nutella and continue whisking.
Add the coconut cream and mix thouroughly.
Once everything is added, pour the mixture into a popsicle mould.
(Mine cost $1.95 from Ikea and is super cute)
Pop it into the freezer for at least 4 hours, but overnight is best.

^It really is super hard to wait the whole 4 hours, I had a little bit left over that i froze in a small container and ttied after about an hour, the outside was a sliky smooth mousse-like texture and the inside was still liquid... Oops. This recipe also turns out be quite sweet, even for me, and I have a massive sweet tooth. So if you aren't all that fond of super sweet desserts, I would reccommend adding 1/4 cup of nutella and and extra banana and you should be fine.

Coconut Pine-Lime
^My nice picture of all of the ingredients has decieded to delete itself instead of uploading - so here is a picture of some Jelly.

Ingredients:
85g Pack of pinapple jelly
85g Pack of lime jelly
1 cup boiling water
3/4 cup light milk
200 ml (1/2 can) coconut cream

Method:
Mix both packs of dry jelly crystals in a heat-proof bowl and add boiling water.
Mix with for until all of the crystals disolve. Put aside to cool, while mixing other ingredients.
In a seperate bowl whisk the milk and the coconut cream together.
once the jelly mix has cooled down slightly, slowly whisk it into the milk mixture, until it is all incorporated.
Continue whisking for another 60 seconds, to make the mixture light and fluffy. (It's so fluffy I could die)
Pour into moulds, pop them in the freezer and wait at least 4 hours. But, over night is still the best. Even though it is really hard to wait a whole night to get at these bad boys. Once frozen, they will taste kind of similar to a Splice, just without the crunchy amazingness on the outside. They will have a nice smooth airy finish and be almost completely irrisistable.

^For a vegetarian alternative, use coconut cream.
^^For a vegan alternative use lemon and lime juice and agar agar to make the jelly (somehow, I'm not vegan and need help, otherwise I might just sound patronising, where are all the vegans when you need them? lol.) But seriously, if you know how to do this vegan style, let me know:]

Peace out. B x

Welcome from 'B'

Hi, and welcome to the Scissor Sisters blog!

My name is Bonnie and I am the older half of the Scissor Sisters duo. We are real life sisters and live in Adelaide, South Australia. We spend most of our time avoiding doing the things we should be doing, and making random things instead... Oops!
I am going to try and incorporate as many healthy recipes and ideals into this blog as I can.

This is where Procrasticaitlan and I (Bonzlegator) will post about all things crafty, creative and DIY.

There may be some doubling up of the "healthy" posts on my personal blog 'I am Rocky Balboa', which is about healthy lifestyle and fitness.

We hope you enjoy our blog as much as we enjoy creating everything we blog about.

So stay tuned for some exciting summer inspired recipes over the next few weeks :)

Peace out! B x
